10.3.21 ICU 5

Aimee is a bit more stable tonight. Still intubated, but issues that she was struggling with today of low blood pressures, low urine, and high heart rate have improved. They have broadened her antibiotics to take a more aggressive approach assuming that infection is still an issue. She seems to have perked up a bit this evening, opening her eyes in response to interaction.

We talked with neurology about doing an EEG while here and considering a sedated brain MRI due to her declining status.

It is very odd as there is very little of her care that we can do. She is on a foley cath, so no cathing needed from us. No ostomy output to empty. No feeds or meds to give. No bipap or respiratory treatments that we can administer. We are just parents here with our girl.

I expect that tomorrow we will have more of an action plan as it will no longer be the weekend. She will hopefully be in a better position tomorrow for steps forward. I assume we will see Palliative care and MCC join her team too as consults.

I wish we weren’t here. We had just finally been home as long as her last hospital stay this week. 💔
