10.3.21 ICU 4

Aimee is still intubated, though no longer sedated. She is completely relying on the machine currently to breath for her, so they don’t feel comfortable transferring her to her nasal mask on bipap quite yet. When they tried changing the settings so that she would initiate breathes, they had to bag her as she did not take a single breath on her own. They are concerned about her trend over this past few weeks of respiratory support needs.

The plan at the moment is to continue on antibiotics, pain medication, and PN fluids for today. Tomorrow we will discuss having a central line placed for TPN feeds.

In good news, she is maintaining a normal body temperature.
