12.6.21 Trach Floor 41

Phew, a day! Aimee had her sedated scope today. They biopsied several areas and noted some inflammation, but generally there were no immediate acute findings. So tomorrow they will do a fluoroscopy of her pylorus and probably place an NJ tube through her nose into her small intestine. That will be in the afternoon. In the morning she will have a dexa bone mineralization scan.

On her way back from the PACU she was really junky and the RT had to do cough assist during transport. They hadn’t set up her vent circuit correctly and ended up clogging the exhalation port. Once they got to the room they attempted to fix it and ended up breaking the circuit. Three different RTs and our nurse were all working to get it resolved. I ended up having to bag her for over 30 minutes while they tracked down a new circuit. It was pretty crazy. Thankfully, Aimee is perfectly happy to let us inflate her lungs. She was actually resting fairly comfortably with a nice low heart rate while being bagged for most of the process.
