I had a conversation with the social worker from hospice the other day. She was talking with me about ways to find time for sleep, about reprioritizing, about being an example to my kids of setting things aside, about cutting corners. Not sure what our new life will be exactly, but Aimee does require care round the clock so we will need to fit in naps and let go of even more “normal”. Being together is so worth all of this effort. Not just for Aimee, but for the way it changes our whole family.
I had a chance to get a little more comfortable with Aimee’s care today. It was good to do it all and start to jot down a rhythm. Just getting her up out of bed is such an ordeal with all the different tubes and cords, but we did it! 2 days down that we have managed to successfully stay home! Well actually Ed had to go into the hospital today to pick up more meds and actually into our unit to grab a few items we left behind. But, he didn’t take Aimee! 😆
So so glad she is home

May God be glorified in all things including the path God has called your family to walk.
As Aimee is quiet in the presence of God this verse came to mind.
Psalm 46:10 - “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
